What about your insurance coverage in the wake of today's health care decision?

MANCHESTER - What will happen to your insurance coverage once a decision is made today by the Supreme Court of the United States on patient protection and Affordable Care Act?
This does not only depend on the decision, but ensures that you and your family.
Cigna and Anthem will not comment after the decision. Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and UnitedHealthcare are committed to continuing popular provisions of the act, regardless of how the court rules.
Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, in a statement from CEO Eric Schultz, said he would hold at least three key provisions of the Affordable Care Act. They are:
- Coverage of the federal government has defined preventive care services without cost sharing, including coverage for preventive care for women start August 1, 2012.
- Coverage of dependents up to age 26.
- Removal of annual and lifetime limits on benefits of essential health.
UnitedHealthcare has stated that provisions will continue to cover preventive health services, coverage of dependents up to 26 years, the limits of political life, cancellations and appeals.
MVP Healthcare President and CEO David W. Oliker said: "In general, if a shared decision-making parts of the law have been met and some are invalidated. There will be fewer changes in New Hampshire than in many parts of the country, like New Hampshire already has most of the reforms adopted by the ACA, including community rating and an external review process.

Not of one mind
NH Insurance Department lawyer Jennifer J. Patterson said, "For me, what will really count is that the court itself said. The first thing we do is read the court decision and see what that means."
Insurers do not agree to meet the challenges of the decision, according to Stephen A. Norton, executive director of the Centre for Policy Studies NH public.
"Insurance companies provided moderate support for reform efforts because of the mandate that would allow premium dollars," said Norton.
"If the Supreme Court says they are going to repeal its mandate, it complicates the issue of health insurance premiums because there are a lot of things as guarantees, which could result in people who register only when they are sick and it's not what insurance companies want, "Norton said.
Other concerns
Northeast Delta Dental President and CEO Tom Raffio said the children's dental coverage is one of 10 key benefits that all health plans must include as part of the PEA.
